Our Services
Stack Emissions Monitoring
Stack sampling or Isokinetic Stack sampling is one of the main measures for determining the particulate matter (PM) load in a stack, often for environmental compliance with Atmospheric Emission Licences (AEL), new applications and renewals.
Often the licence authority requires more than just the PM load in the stack.
We provide expert services to businesses requiring atmospheric emissions licensing. We are authorized to perform atmospheric emissions testing and emissions monitoring projects of any size and complexity throughout Southern Africa.
NAEIS REPORTING
NAEIS reporting is crucial for tracking pollution levels, identifying sources of emissions, and implementing strategies to reduce air pollution.
It ensures regulatory compliance and contributes to public health and environmental protection.
In South Africa, the National Atmospheric Emission Inventory System (NAEIS) plays a crucial role in monitoring and managing air quality.
Understanding and adhering to reporting guidelines and regulations is essential for businesses operating in sectors that impact air quality
Air Quality Monitoring System
Enviro Protek boasts integrated, corrosion-proof sensors and in-built calibration software, ensuring accurate, real-time environmental data. Enviro Protek meets stringent safety standards, with certifications like CE & FCC and approvals like SASO, ensuring data security with end-to-end encryption. The IP 66, and NEMA 4X certifications attest to its robustness, capable of withstanding extreme climatic conditions and offering comforting usability.
Assist in the online National Reporting platform
We assist with a National Reporting Platform, it’s important to understand the specific reporting obligations and the platform’s purpose. This may involve data collection, analysis, and reporting for various national or international initiatives like the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or environmental agreements. The platform should be user-friendly, accessible, and provide clear guidance to ensure accurate and efficient reporting
Air Dispersion Modelling
Air Dispersion Modelling predicts the behaviour and dispersion of pollutants in the atmosphere.
How do Air Dispersion Models work?
Air Dispersion Models use pollutant emission rates, emission source characteristics (e.g. the diameters and heights of chimney stacks), meteorological conditions (e.g. wind speeds and directions) and the profile of the terrain, to simulate air pollution. Modelling is done using mathematical algorithms on computers with high processing power.

Who needs an Atmospheric Emission License?
Any facility who carries out or intends to carry out an activity or activities as listed in terms of Section 21 of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act, 2004 (Act 39 of 2004) listed in Government Notice No. 248, Gazette No 33064 must apply for permission on a designated application form to the Licensing Authority
Managing Air Quality - Ambient Air Monitoring
Ambient air monitoring is an integral part of an effective air quality management system. Reasons to collect such data include to:
assess the extent of pollution;
provide air pollution data to the general public in a timely manner;
support implementation of air quality goals or standards;
evaluate the effectiveness of emissions control strategies;
provide information on air quality trends;
provide data for the evaluation of air quality models; and
support research (e.g., long-term studies of the health effects of air pollution).
There are different methods to measure any given pollutant. A developer of a monitoring strategy should examine the options to determine which methods are most appropriate, taking into account the main uses of the data, initial investment costs for equipment, operating costs, reliability of systems, and ease of operation.
The locations for monitoring stations depend on the purpose of the monitoring. Most air quality monitoring networks are designed to support human health objectives, and monitoring stations are established in population centers. They may be near busy roads, in city centers, or at locations of particular concern (e.g., a school, hospital, particular emissions sources). Monitoring stations also may be established to determine background pollution levels, away from urban areas and emissions sources.
Systems are needed to ensure that data are of acceptable quality, to record and store the data, and to analyze the data and present results.
